Sage buys Snowdrop Systems for £17m

FTSE 100 accounting software giant buys HR and payroll provider for £17m, in bid for medium-sized business clients

Sage has paid £17m for HR and payroll software company Snowdrop Systems .

Snowdrop provides services to 700 medium-sized businesses and has been running since 1991.

Sage chief executive for the UK and Ireland Paul Stobart said the deal complemented 'existing offerings which are predominantly aimed at smaller businesses'.

Snowdrop chief executive Michael Richards said the Sage deal would create new opportunities for existing employees.

He promised that Snowdrop would continue to provide standalone solutions for existing clients, but added that software and services for Sage users would be developed.
