SME accounting software company KashFlow has appointed former trade and industry secretary Lord Young as its chairman.
The Conservative peer, a qualified solicitor who became a Lord in 1984, has been appointed to the position with immediate effect.
Lord Young has been drafted in to help develop the company's mid to long-term strategic planning, according to KashFlow. 'I could not have joined at a more exciting time,' he said.
Lord Young was made secretary of state for trade and industry in 1987 before retiring from government in 1989. He also served as president of the Institute of Directors from 1993 to 2002.
