Kroll finds £36m hole in Cobain's accounts

Fraudsters dip in to deceased Nirvana star's fortune during five-year spending spree- widow says she raised the alarm, but no one believed her

Forensic accountants Kroll have uncovered a £36m black hole in Kurt Cobain's accounts after being called in by the deceased rock star's widow.

After getting hold of Cobain's social security number, fraudsters used the details to buy a £1.6m house and set up 188 credit cards.The fraudsters also stole cheques and bought cars, Kroll found.

Courtney Love told The Sun: I knew it had been going on since when I went cuckoo — bananas — in 2003. It was fraud after fraud. But nobody believed me until now.'
