Deloitte has announced the creation of a Young Partners Advisory Council for innovation at the firm's annual global meeting of partners.

At the meeting of 275 partners, which kicked off yesterday in San Jose CA, details of the council were unveiled, with plans for a 25-partner team from 24 countries to develop recommendations for applying innovation across various aspects of Deloitte, including technology, brand, client service delivery, talent and corporate responsibility.

On the anniversary of his first year as chief executive of Deloitte's global network, Jim Quigley attributed the projected 17% growth in revenue to success in advisory services.

Quigley said he is 'delighted' with performance of the group.

'Our continued financial success is driven by our diverse service offerings and strong presence in each region, including the emerging markets. While we are experiencing growth in all areas, growth is particularly strong in our advisory services,' he said. Quigley projected fiscal 2008 revenue to exceed $27bn, compared with $23.1bn in fiscal 2007.

Other speakers at this year's event include former vice president Al Gore and Sun Microsystems CEO Jonathan Schwartz.
