VAR ANS Group hopes to raise more than £1m from the flotation of its Smart Identity subsidiary, which will help fund its ambitious plans for market growth.

The Board of ANS Group revealed last week that it intends to float the division, which specialises in public sector identity management and single sign-on software, “in the near future”.

Scott Fletcher, chief executive of ANS, told CRN: “The main thrust of the flotation is to fund marketing and growth. We have been relying on direct marketing, but need to raise our profile because we are still under the radar. We will also be looking for resellers in the near future.”
