Now UC it: Azlan is aiming to be the UK's leading unified communications distributor

Azlan has extended its distribution deal with videoconferencing vendor Tandberg into the UK market.

The distributor, a subsidiary of Computer 2000, has been designated as a channel development partner for Tandberg in the UK, having previously been appointed to the same role in Italy, Spain, Portugal and Sweden. Through Tandberg's enVision partner programme, Azlan will provide VARs with training and business development schemes and will also look to recruit new resellers.

The video vendor was acquired by Cisco earlier this year and is currently being integrated into the networking giant's operations. Tandberg kit will ultimately form part of Cisco's unified communications (UC) offering.

Azlan, a long-time Cisco partner, is already in the process of building a dedicated UC unit to provide resellers with pre- and post-sales support.

Ian French, strategic development director at Azlan, claimed his firm wants to become the UK's leading UC distributor. "The combination of Cisco’s Telepresence, WebEx and UC systems and Tandberg’s video systems will be very powerful indeed," he said.

"It will enable reseller partners to offer a complete range of video solutions to customers across the whole spectrum of the market – from single desktop solutions to complete enterprise telepresence infrastructures.

"With our existing knowledge and expertise in these segments and the significant additional investments we are making to build dedicated expertise in UC, Azlan is fully enabled to support and help channel partners to build their capabilities and take this powerful value proposition to market, regardless of previous experience.”
