VAR Teneo is diversifying from its roots in the WAN optimisation sector with the launch of a virtualisation assessment tool.
The Teneo Virtualisation Assessment (TVA) is designed to help firms plan server consolidation and virtualisation programmes.
After auditing companies’ server infrastructures, Teneo will report on which servers can be virtualised and will recommend a ‘host’ machine for any newly virtualised servers to run on. The report will also detail possible energy and operating cost-saving measures.

Teneo draws almost two-thirds of its sales from Riverbed but is working with virtualisation software vendor Platespin to deliver TVA.
James Hall, marketing director at Teneo, said moving into virtualisation was a “natural next step” for the reseller.
“One way of doing this is to provide an assessment service to firms that have maybe heard of virtualisation but need to know where to start,” he said.
