Education technology vendor Promethean has appointed a new UK and Ireland head to spearhead its growth plans.
The company earlier this year announced plans to operate a 100 per cent channel strategy (CRN, 11 April).
Ian Curtis, who has racked up over 25 years’ experience in the industry, will be based at the firm’s Blackburn head office. Part of his remit will be to maintain and develop Promethean’s channel partner programme, Activpartner, which supports VARs selling to the education market.

Curtis said: “It is an exciting time for Promethean as there is potential for extensive growth in the education market, and with an outstanding suite of interactive learning solutions, there is a significant opportunity for further development.”
Paul Berry, president of European sales, said: “Already a well-known figure within the IT and technology sector, Ian is a welcome addition to the Promethean team. Due to his knowledge of working in the UK and Ireland, and more specifically with the channel, Ian will prove invaluable in strengthening Promethean’s relationship with channel partners, particularly following our move to 100 per cent channel sales.”
