Azlan has appointed two senior managers to help further develop its vendor and VAR partnerships.

Uwe Stein has moved to the newly created role of director, enterprise solutions marketing Europe with overall responsibility for developing Azlan’s strategic marketing and driving more value from its vendor and VAR partnerships. He will manage Azlan’s marketing and communications across the European region.

In a statement, Stein said: “I am delighted to have been presented with the opportunity to take Azlan’s marketing and communications strategy forward. We have a good business model and excellent vendor relationships and we will be looking to optimise these assets and share best practice between our operations across Europe.

“This will enable Azlan to deliver really effective campaigns that will help VARs reach out to customers and drive their business in both the enterprise and SME markets.”

Separately Ruediger Gunthen has defected from rival Avnet to take up Stein’s former position of director Azlan midrange systems and softeware Europe. His responsibility will include the sales and marketing of server, storage, software and security products and all vendor relationships in those areas.

He said: “No distributor is better-placed [than Azlan] to support and deliver value-added solution sales and help enterprise vendors to grow their business in servers, storage, security and software. Azlan provides the real focus on the mid-range sector and high value enterprise sales required to succeed in today’s competitive environment. I am excited about the prospects going forward and look forward to working with our vendor partners to drive growth and with our customers to support their value-added business development.”
