Integrator Damovo has announced the appointment of Marconi and Ericsson veteran Paul Butcher as managing director.
Butcher replaces former Azlan director Nick Dean, who spent more than two years at the helm following predecessor Paul Renucci's departure in 2006. Butcher has more than 15 years of experience in the IT and communications industries and has previously headed up vendor Marconi's operations in Australia and the Asia Pacific region. He has also served as head of Ericsson's Enterprise business in Australia.
Butcher is the second Marconi bigwig to join Damovo in the last 18 months. Mike Parton was unveiled as chief executive of the integrator last summer, having previously held the same role at Marconi.

Butcher said: " ”I am pleased to be joining Damovo at a very interesting time for the industry. Difficulties in the wider economy have increased the pressure on organisations to operate more efficiently and effectively and the technologies and services which Damovo offers will become ever more important in addressing these goals. I am excited by the opportunity to build on Damovo’s long standing strengths as a leading provider of ICT solutions and services and to help our customers meet the challenges they face. “
