Paul Louden, former country manager at Avaya, has stepped into the newly created role and will help drive growth of Polycom’s business collaboration solutions (encompassing voice and video) in the UK and Ireland. “My long-term goal is to drive Polycom to become the number one channel partner of choice,” he said.
Louden’s remit also includes building a strong channel to significantly grow revenues by developing local routes to market.
Ian Vickerage, managing director of Polycom distributor Imago, said: “The appointment shows that, for the first time ever, Polycom has given its full weight to the UK, which is great for us.” Polycom has also added Westcon to its stable of distributors in the UK, taking its total to four.
“Westcon brings us a specialty in networking, convergence, security and mobility that will extend and [complement] both existing and future market opportunities,” he said.
