Virtualisation server vendor Virtual Iron has announced a pan-European distribution agreement with Tech Data and its enterprise networking arm Azlan.

John McCarthy, senior vice president of sales for Virtual Iron, said: “By reducing the complexity of production-ready server virtualisation, Virtual Iron and its distributor and reseller partners are driving mainstream adoption of the technology.

“Tech Data/Azlan has a very strong presence in France, Iberia, Scandinavia and the UK and brings deep expertise in virtualisation and IT infrastructure management.”

Reseller partner services offered by Virtual Iron include data centre assessments, physical to virtual migration, business continuity and disaster recovery planning, capacity planning and utilisation, implementation and deployment, policy-based automation development and a variety of managed services.

Markus Bauer, director of virtualisation at Tech Data Europe: “Server virtualisation enables Tech Data/Azlan’s value-added resellers to present their end-user customers with a compelling solution that can cut costs and streamline many data centre operations.”

Bauer continued: “The addition of Virtual Iron strengthens our server virtualisation offering and provides our value-added resellers greater flexibility when developing the latest data centre solutions.”
