Irish reseller Calyx has continued its acquisition-hungry strategy in the UK after it snapped-up Mentec International for a total consideration of €16m.
Calyx Group outlined plans to create a 'converged network services giant' in the UK after it acquired of the integration division of Matrix Communications Group earlier in the year (CRN, 22 May).
The firm has now added Mentec to the UK deals of Matrix and reseller ITS Technology Services for £2.5m (CRN, 31 October 2005).
Mentec is based in Dublin and Leicestershire and supplies technical and managed services and applications to customers mainly in the public, manufacturing, distribution and professional services sectors.
Maurice Healy, chief executive of Calyx, told CRN: "Mentec's revenue and sales direction is on a par with our own and the acquisition has boosted our managed services business.
"During the first quarter of 2007 we will be getting our management teams together and integrating the businesses. After that we will look toward other opportunities in the UK market."
Healy added the Matrix Companies had so far shown a "good trading performance ".
