The site used to allows VARs to check the availability of new and end-of-life
stock from almost every distributor in the UK. It now also displays information
about related or compatible products for each search, which resellers could then
use for up-sell opportunities among customers.
IT Dealer has almost 400 registered resellers on its books in the UK.
Rupesh Vara, senior sales director at
IT
Dealer, said: “The feedback so far has been really positive. Resellers,
particularly, are finding it useful because it means they do not have to employ
a sales person just for their technical capabilities. Any non-technical sales
person can just log on and the web site will help them find compatible products
to sell. It will also give them the technical specifications to pass on to their
customers, should they need them.”
