Computer 2000 (C2000) is urging its vendors to strengthen ties with the distribution giant to ride out the coming storm in 2009.
The broadliner held a vendor partner day in Reading last week to appeal to its wide vendor base that a unified approach to the downturn is the best way to survive.
Managing director Andy Gass, said: “It is tough out there and is a lot about survival. It is not the strongest that will survive but the most adaptable. The outlook is not good for the year ahead and we need manufacturers to bring opportunities to us because we will exploit them through our resellers.”

Gass added that the distributor is still aiming to double turnover in five years to £2bn (CRN, 20 June), but needs the support of vendors.
“Business development is more important than ever. But it is a two-way street and we need our vendors to help drive mutual growth. We need to act now.”
Ann Keefe, UK and Ireland sales director at Kingston Technology, said: “I am really pleased that C2000 is taking the initiative and addressing head on the challenges that the market is throwing at us.”
