Security vendor Cyber-Ark has launched an appliance version of its digital vaulting software in response to channel demand.
The appliance – Enterprise Password Vault – will simplify deployment and shorten implementation time, according to the vendor.
Calum Macleod, vice-president of regional sales EMEA at Cyber-Ark, told CRN: “We have seen very strong growth this year, but the solution has always been software based. Our channel partners told us they wanted it to be appliance based because it makes their lives a little easier in terms of selling to target markets.”
Macleod added that many smaller and mid-sized firms see an appliance as being more secure than software.
“In reality, 99 per cent of security technology is on appliances, so resellers have a harder job to convince firms to invest in software.”
