The Independent Trade Association of Computing Specialists (ITACS) has announced it intends to merge with the National Association of Specialist Computer Retailers (NASCR).
ITACS and NASCR have agreed that the two associations share similar goals and plan to become one major force in the industry through the merger.
ITACS has previously collaborated with NASCR to meet with the Department of Trade and Industry, now rebranded the Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR), in the battle to persuade the government to shoulder some of the cost of old IT equipment disposal.

A formal proposal for the merger will be put to each association at EGMs to be held on 18 March.
