Taylor: the portal will act as a self-service area for partners

Interface Solutions International (ISI) has launched an online sales sweetener for Sun resellers after completing a set of roadshows across the UK to enroll new partners.

The distributor’s ‘grow your sales’ portal will provide additional company, product, promotion and market information to resellers working with Sun Microsystems.

The portal aims to provide additional support for the sales process, enabling VARs to win more Sun business.

John Taylor, Sun business unit director at ISI, said the site will evolve into a trading portal by the end of the year.

“We will be targeting them with different mediums,” he explained. “The portal will act as a self-service area for partners, but direct touch is still important. It will give partners a selection of mediums to communicate with us.”

ISI held the last of its four Sun reseller seminars last week and the distributor is now a quarter of the way to hitting its 100 reseller recruitment target for the year.

Paul Flannery, director of partner sales at Sun Microsystems UK and Ireland, said: “These are challenging times, but we are confident with help from Interface that we can drive channel capacity in our X86 product range and take market share.”
