Back-up and recovery vendor Acronis is launching a competitive upgrade programme to lure users away from its rivals' products.
Acronis will offer a discount of up to 50 per cent on its disaster recovery and deployment products to users of its rivals' software.
David Blackman, general manager of Acronis in Northern Europe, said: “The perceived cost of switching a disaster-recovery strategy can seem daunting for SMBs. We want to cater for their needs by saving them money both up-front and in the long term.”

To be eligible for the programme, end users must produce proof of ownership for software the vendor classes as competing against its Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 and Acronis Snap Deploy products.
End users will be offered 40 per cent off the list price by Acronis - via its channel partners - to make the switch, plus an additional 10 per cent off until the end of the year.

Acronis does not provide support
I have bought an Acronis product in early December and had big problems with installation, I have tried many ways of contacting their support but they do not reply, if you are thinking of buying their product look at their support forum first, NO ONE seems able to contact their support!
