Bullish VAR Probrand has emerged as the new owner of HKW Information Services after plucking the Manchester-based reseller from administration.

HKW, which provided IT hardware, software, consumables as well as services and support, has been trading under the Probrand name since Monday.

Probrand told CRN earlier this year that it expects to double its turnover to £30m over the next 18 months (CRN, 16 March).

The Birmingham-based firm is behind public sector procurement portal IT Index, which offers product information and pricing on more than 1,200 manufacturers.

Chris Griesbach, commercial director at Probrand, said in a statement: “HKW’s fit with our work at Probrand is a reflection of our aspiration for growth through investment in great people, products and services.”
