Just the job: Graydon is hunting "someone with experience and knowledge of the channel"

Credit reference firm Graydon is scouring the channel for an experienced and tenacious credit professional to replace outgoing head of intelligence Mark Ancell.

Distributor Computer 2000 (C2000) has hired Ancell to join its credit ranks and he will depart Graydon in the New Year. His new post will focus on credit risk and assessment.

Former C2000 credit director Nick Tiltman left the firm after 17 years last month to set up consultancy European Plus. In his new role he will be working with Graydon to promote the firm's SME-focused CreditPal initiative.

Ancell leaves the credit reference specialist after three years in the intelligence hotseat. His departure marks a return to the distribution arena, having joined Graydon in January 2007 from a post as credit manager at Computacenter Distribution. He also spent five years with Northamber earlier in his career.

Graydon managing director Martin Williams claimed he was assessing various applicants but that no decision has been made yet on a permanent replacement. He added that Ancell departed on good terms and was well equipped to return to the credit management space.

"Graydon has given Mark another string to his bow and a better understanding of credit information tools," he said.

"We will be looking (to replace him) with someone with experience and knowledge of the channel and we have a number of candidates. We only want people from the channel – that is a pre-requisite. We are looking for someone who is investigative and used to getting their teeth into a story."
