Cohort Technology has become the first distributor to bag Authorised Training Centre status with security and virtualisation vendor Stonesoft.

The distributor will offer monthly training sessions around Stonesoft’s gear with the first course set to take place in December. The certification will also help it expand beyond its security roots, Cohort added.

Ian Gilbey, services director at Cohort, said: “We have a very service-orientated strategy and achieving Authorised Training Centre status was therefore our first priority. Stonesoft has been very supportive offering both marketing and technical training in order for us to achieve our goal.”

Stonesoft country manager Ash Patel said the Finland-based vendor has doubled its UK revenues in the last 18 months.

Stonesoft boasts more than 20 UK accredited resellers, with RnD Systems, Ramesys, Sapphire and Network Defence among its top-level Platinum partners.

Patel said: “Cohort is the first distributor to achieve fully authorised training centre status for our products and we will be supporting them throughout to ensure it is a successful venture for both parties.”
