Westcon Group has promoted convergence group vice president and industry veteran David Grant to the vice presidency of its entire European division.
Dean Douglas, president and chief executive officer of Westcon Group, said Grant will continue reporting directly to him.
“We are expanding into the Nordics, the Baltic, and southern Europe, and we continue to strengthen our vendor portfolio overall. With Grant's leadership and experience, we are well positioned to further our success in Europe, which is a fundamental component in our broader growth strategy,” he said in a statement.

Grant worked in the convergence group for three years. Previous to that, he spent 14 years in various senior positions at Canon UK, then became chief executive officer at distributor Crane – which was bought by Westcon in 2007.
He will look after European strategy, as well as overseeing its human resources and legal organisations, according to Douglas.
Grant released a press statement pledging continued support to vendors and resellers across Europe.
“Our strong relationships with key convergence vendors and a very skilled reseller community set us apart from our competitors,” he said. “We will continue to help vendors and resellers increase their productivity to drive competitive advantage.”
