The Emerald Isle: C2000 and Symantec are hoping to grab a large slice of the Irish market

Computer 2000 (C2000) has signed a deal with Symantec to supply its security and backup products to the Irish reseller channel.

Under the terms of the deal, the two firms will work together to develop further reseller partnerships and boost Symantec’s share of the Irish market for SME-focused security and backup.

The broadline giant has already trained up its 10-strong, dedicated Irish account management and sales team in the Backup Exec and Endpoint Protection solution portfolio in preparation.

James Reed, general manager of software for C2000 UK and Ireland, said: “SMEs are becoming much more aware of the need to protect their systems and data, and Symantec is one of the most trusted names in digital security and storage management.

"Its solutions present a considerable opportunity for resellers addressing the growing desire among smaller and growing firms to ensure the safety and resilience of their business. We will be working with Symantec to raise awareness of its solutions and the sales growth potential that they offer for resellers.”

Helen Wood, channel sales director, UK and Ireland at Symantec, added: “Computer 2000 adds a valuable new dimension to our presence in Ireland and provides Symantec resellers with access to a tremendous range of services and resources.

"We are looking forward to developing a strong partnership – one that helps both our companies and all our partners to maximise their opportunities in the SME market with Symantec products.”
