Security reseller Network Technology Solutions (NTS) is launching a cloud assault after acquiring the managed services contracts of rival Virtronix.

Virtronix, which was formerly known as Objectronix, provides managed firewall, DNS and intrusion prevention services to 5060 clients and is NTS’ first ever acquisition.

NTS managing director Jonathan Lassman said the deal would allow the London-based VAR to expand managed services from 10 to 20 per cent of its business over the next year.

“We want to significantly increase our managed services offering as everyone is looking at the cloud and looking to offload,” he explained.

Lassman claimed that Check Point, Juniper, Bloxx and Proofpoint partner NTS is on course to grow turnover 50 per cent this calendar year and has the resources to make further acquisitions. Separate to the deal, NTS has taken on two of Virtronix’s top technical and sales heads.

Ian Kilpatrick, chairman of distributor Wick Hill, said: “We have found NTS to be highly successful and have experienced very strong growth with them.”
