EMC will focus on increasing its coverage of the mid-market sector this year, the storage giant has revealed.
Its mid-market push will be headed by Chris Gould, UK and Ireland channel sales manager at EMC, as part of the firm’s wider plans to “refocus on growth”.
Gould said: “The mid-market is still leading on a cost reduction agenda, but we expect opportunities within the sector for our channel partners to grow in 2010.”

To ensure its partners are ready to take advantage of the firm’s mid-market push, EMC intend to overhaul their partner programme this year, added Gould.
“The partner programme has always reflected the changing needs of our partners and the make up of our business,” explained Gould. “And the emphasis will be on ensuring they are aligned to the mid-market this year.”
Evidence of the firm’s commitment to the sector is its recent appointment of Arrow ECS as a distributor, added Gould, following a review of the company’s distribution partners late last year.
“Arrow ECS demonstrated to us during the review process that they have got the right skills to accelerate growth in the mid-market, as well as the other sectors we cover.”
