BorderWare is looking to double its reseller base as the security vendor’s portfolio diversifies into new areas.

The traditional firewall provider has added to its product range over the past year to incorporate SIP firewall offerings.

Philip Belshaw, UK partners manager at BorderWare, said: “We have a two-tier model, with distributors OpenPSL and Peters and Peters. We will be recruiting new VARs using these partners.

“We have 15 to 20 proactive resellers and we aim to double this. Now, more than ever, customers need to upgrade their security systems to extend and adapt to new and evolving threats as the convergence of internet applications continues.”

Belshaw said BorderWare is looking for resellers with an understanding of the trends and issues that end-users face.

“We have a full partner programme in place, with lead generation, reseller discounts, full technical support, and training,” added Belshaw.

Duncan Hume, divisional manager for security at Bell Microproducts Europe, which owns BorderWare partner OpenPSL, said: “We have been working with BorderWare for the past four years. We are looking to push its firewall and email firewall product lines.”

Hume added that OpenPSL is keen to promote BorderWare to the channel as more than just an email firewall or anti-spam company.

Stuart Peters, managing director of distribution partner Peters and Peters, said the security application market is seeing huge levels of growth.

“We are after a maximum of 10 new BorderWare resellers,” Peters added. “We have five VARs, but want more in the top-end of the market.”
