Wick Hill has pinpointed log and security management as a lucrative niche for resellers after signing its second vendor in the space.
The distributor has been working with ArcSight since July 2008 and has now inked a deal with competitor LogLogic, whose platform is designed to collect, store, report and alert on all user and system activity data from virtually any log source.
Wick Hill chairman Ian Kilpatrick estimated that penetration of the technology outside Times 500 firms still stands at just seven per cent. Organisations with 1,000 to 2,000 seats would prove a sweet spot, he predicted.

“There is a huge channel opportunity as it is comparatively untapped,” said Kilpatrick.
Wick Hill will take charge of LogLogic’s roster of UK resellers, which includes Zepko and Care Tower.
Steve England, managing director of security and event management VAR Zepko, said buying directly meant resellers had been hit by recent exchange rate fluctuations.
“To have a distributor we can buy from in UK currency is a good thing, and Wick Hill can bring extra value add services,” he said.
