Horizon equIP Technology has claimed a UK first by achieving full training accreditation from F5 Networks.

The distributor, which is now part of Avnet Technology Solutions, following its recent buyout of Horizon, will be able to offer training course for the BIG-IP platform and related software modules at its fully equipped Basingstoke training facility. The training was previously only available from the network and security vendor itself.

Laura Harman, business unit director at Horizon equIP Technology, said: “We are continuing to invest in our F5 business, and see training and skills transfer as critical success factors in supporting F5’s market, which is rapidly gathering pace. This accreditation provides us with a unique opportunity to add further support, not only to our business partners, but also to F5, allowing them to continue to scale their business.”

Jim Tickner, director of professional services at F5, said: ““I am delighted that Horizon continues to invest in F5’s UK business. Our partner community will see clear benefits from this augmented training offering, and the net result will be to make our market an even more compelling and profitable proposition. Horizon’s knowledge and experience as an integrating distributor means it is perfectly placed to address the need for increased training capacity within our channel.”
