Email and content security vendor PineApp has appointed Security IP as its sole UK distributor after parting company with C-MI Labs.
Fronted by channel veteran Andi Robinson, managed service-focused Security IP was founded at the start of the year and employs 13 staff.
Steve Cornish, UK sales and marketing director at PineApp, said the
distributor would help swell its presence among mid-market VARs.
“A lot of CMI’s business is towards small firms and we are looking to move our
products into larger end users, so were heading in different directions,” he
said.

“Our products are getting more and more sophisticated so we were looking for
a distributor with the same vision as us.”
Security IP will integrate PineApp’s offering into its white-box managed service
solution, which also features technology
from the likes of Cryptocard and BitDefender.
“This is not being done by anyone in distribution on this scale,” said
Robinson.
“It will help resellers that do not have the time to develop a managed service
and do not just want to give it to someone such as MessageLabs.”
