IP telephony vendor ShoreTel has added to its UK distribution line-up after signing a deal with MTV Telecom.

MTV Telecom is owned by US distribution giant Scansource which bought it for an undisclosed sum earlier this year. The Surrey-based firm currently works with vendors Avaya, Siemens, Panasonic and Swyx. ShoreTel is currently distributed in the UK by Horizon Solutions, Selcoms and Cohort.

Martin Hatcher, chairman of MTV Telecom, said: “We are delighted to add ShoreTel’s products and applications to our offering, as they provide our resellers with additional access to high-quality, IP-based communications solutions for their end-user customers.

"ShoreTel’s cutting-edge solutions deliver an ease-of-use and manageability that resellers are looking to offer their customers, in addition to the valuable features of disaster recovery and business continuity, which are so important in today’s environment.”

ShoreTel EMEA managing director Mark Swendsen added: “We are extremely pleased and excited to be partnered with MTV Telecom. They are recognised in the UK for their history of introducing technology leading products to the market, and are the de facto value add distributor in the telephony/convergence space. With the resources of ScanSource behind them, MTV Telecom is the ideal partner to help us to continue our growth in the UK.”
