Cisco kit generates more than half of Westcon Group’s revenues and chief executive Dean Douglas said the move would allow the distributor to “better manage growth and investments in our Cisco-oriented business”.
He added: “Having our Cisco-oriented offerings aligned in a single, global business unit will amount to an unprecedented opportunity for our resellers around the globe.”
The new organisation will also oversee the expansion of the Comstor brand into Canada and Brazil, where Westcon already has a presence through its Westcon Convergence and Westcon Security brands.
The shake up comes five months after Westcon inked a standardised global deal with Cisco to ease business across geographical borders.
