Yes Telecom is offering to unlock the multi-billion pound mobile data market for IT resellers with the launch of a new range of services.

The business-to-business telecoms operator, which was acquired by Vodafone in 2006, is arming VARs with a “one-stop-shop” for airtime and support. This includes dedicated account managers, an online portal for easy access to mobile data products, training, in-house technical support and field-based technical sales resources.

The package is designed to enable IT resellers to tap into what has traditionally been the domain of the traditional mobile phone dealer.

Yes said it is able to offer products such as BlackBerry Storm and Dell Inspiron Mini9 Netbook which are exclusive to Vodafone.

Yes claimed that demand for mobile data solutions is greater than ever, with 86 per cent of businesses requiring internet access outside normal working hours.

Simon Howitt, sales and marketing director at Yes, said: “The opportunity for IT resellers to secure a piece of the mobile data market has always been there. But, to date, few have ventured to explore the opportunity, very much because of the business model involved. IT resellers, on the whole, have no experience of airtime agreements and working with the commission structure of the mobile industry. They can be put off by this.”

“At Yes Telecom we recognise the difficulties which resellers have with regards to the market and have put in place a structure to address this, thus making it easy to access the as yet untapped profit available to them in mobile data.”
