Rock has appointed Gem Distribution as its first distributor for the 22in meivo LCD PC TV.
The system builder unveiled the product in March at CeBIT, but only began shipping a fortnight ago.
Nick Boardman, chief executive of Rock, told CRN: “We are shipping direct to Rock’s own customer base of end-users, while Gem will help us reach a broader market.
“Gem has begun a concerted push into the audiovisual (AV) space, particularly the converged home, which is one vertical we feel meivo will be perfect for.”
Simon Lee, commercial director at Gem, said: “Our primary focus for meivo will be to consumers through high street retailers, but we also intend to place it through AV resellers.”
Gem has been given a period of exclusivity for meivo after which time Rock may sign another distributor.
“We have been in talks with Midwich,” Boardman revealed.
