Storage vendor Brocade has promoted Barbara Spicek to vice president of worldwide channels following its acquisition of networking outfit Foundry Networks.
Brocade completed its $2.6bn purchase of Foundry in December and has tasked Spicek with developing a “world-class” partner programme for the enlarged firm.
Spicek joined Brocade from Iomega in 2001. Her previous role was senior director of partner sales and marketing for EMEA and Latin America.

Brocade claimed the move signifies its commitment to bolster its global sales and high-touch customer engagements through the channel.
Ian Whiting, senior vice president of Worldwide Sales at Brocade, said: " Barbara's appointment is an important and timely one in light of our entry into the IP/Ethernet networking market through the acquisition of Foundry.
“We believe that channel partners around the world, like end-users, are looking for more choices for end-to-end networking solutions and our goal is to fill that need as a credible and viable alternative.”
