VAR Telinet has acquired managed outsourcing specialist Pasporte in a multi-million pound deal after securing an injection of private equity funding.
The £11m acquisition, funded by the Growth & Acquisition Finance division of investment bank Investec, will strengthen Telinet's strategy of providing integrated communications and technology managed services to medium sized firms in the UK.
Pasporte is also one of IBM's top UK resellers and has won Big Blue's Beacon Award three times in the past four years - this year, 2007 and 2005.
Paul Cosgrave, chief executive of Telinet, said: "The Pasporte proposition and its very strong management team significantly strengthen our service offerings in managed telecommunications and information technology solutions for our customers."
Ed Cottrell, a representative from Investec, said: "The continued backing by Investec reiterates our commitment of ongoing support for Telinet's strong management team and their selective and focused buy and build strategy. We remain excited about Telinet's prospects in the converging IT sector."
