SCH Distribution (SCHd) claims it is the first distributor to get on board with virtualisation giant VMware’s new competency framework.
Launched last week, VMware’s reseller network and competency framework is designed to reward and distinguish partners for their investments as VMware virtualisation experts.
As well as the mandatory competency of infrastructure virtualisation, Enterprise and Premier-level partners have the choice of becoming certified in business continuity, desktop virtualisation or virtualisation management.

Andy Arthur, chief operating officer at SCHd, said: “SCHd will work closely with its 3,500 channel partners to ensure – irrespective of their reseller status – they can take immediate advantage of VMware’s new competencies framework, for business gain. Moreover, we will continue to underpin individual partner’s prospects for growth, through helping them to achieve added value reseller status, wherever feasible.
SCHd has also invested in new training and skills workshops, demonstration facilities, credit solutions and marketing, among other services.
Arthur added: “By choosing to work with SCHd, resellers will have access to a proven portfolio of sales tools endorsed by VMware’s new scheme.
“Crucially, we will enable our channel partners to deliver solutions and services they might not otherwise have been able to provide, on an ‘as needs’ basis and extension of their own brand.”
