Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC) is hoping to be the flexible friend of the channel with the EMEA launch of its Online Certification Centre (OCC).

Aimed at providing online certification training anytime and anywhere, the OCC is free of charge for all FSC partners and is aimed at helping VARs boost business, FSC claims.

Three separate portals have been set up – aimed at mobility, storage and Primergy certification. Each portal supplies training requirements, preparatory material and online tests. Instruction can either be via PowerPoint presentations or e-learning – using four basic steps.

These are:

Step 1– Visit local channel partner portal, go to the training area and choose ‘Online Certification Centre’. Then select relevant area: mobility, storage or PRIMERGY.
Step 2– Select profession: sales professional, pre-sales consultant or systems engineer. Click on ‘Exam preparation’.
Step 3 – Select preferred learning format: either e-learning or PowerPoint.
Step 4– Take the online exam.

As soon as the tests are completed, the candidate is informed whether they have passed or failed. Successful students are sent a certificate by post.

In addition to the UK, OCCs are available in Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.
