Vendor VoSKY is hoping a new set of enterprise-targeted PBX to Skype gateway products will help it swell its UK reseller ranks.
The vendor has launched the Skype-certified VoSKY Exchange Pro VIT1/E1, in an effort to gain more of a foothold in the enterprise space.
VoSKY’s global vice president David Tang said the vendor is already enjoying some success in the hospitality area.

“Skype is typically known as a consumer product. Our key focus is to bring it to businesses,” he said.
“Our products are scalable and we have had a lot of demand for higher capacity. We already have a lot of major enterprises that have deployed our solutions.”
VoSKY works through UK distributors Rocom and Cohort and currently has about 30 UK resellers. Tang claimed that number could rise to 50 by the end of this year.
“We are proactively targeting the voice guys; that is the first qualification for the majority of our reseller base,” he said.
Mark Swendsen, EMEA managing director of VoSKY technology partner ShoreTel, told CRN: “There is a growing niche for these products and the overall market is creating a demand which will make Skype and VoSKY more substantial players.”
