RAID and host bus adaptor vendor LSI has opened a new warehouse and distribution centre to reduce European shipment times.
Based near Heathrow Airport, the hub is stocked with the vendor’s full range of storage adaptors, which LSI aims to deliver within three days of orders being placed.
The warehouse will allow European distributors, system builders and VARs to improve customer service, without holding large inventories, according to the vendor.
Mike Rees, channel director for Europe at LSI Europe, said so far 95 per cent of products have been shipped within 24 hours.
“We listened to our partners and acted to meet their needs,” he said.
“Distributors do not like the cost and hassle that goes with holding large amounts of inventory, so we are holding it in a location where they can easily access it when required.”
