Westcon Group is looking to recreate the success of uniting its UK businesses by merging its French operations.
Last week the distributor merged Comstor France and Westcon France to create Westcon Group France (CRN Online, 26 September).
Westcon completed the same move in the UK earlier this year (CRN, 27 February).
The combined French operations will be headed by general manager Fabrice Tusseau, formerly general manager of Comstor France.
Barry Shakespeare, executive vice-president, European sales and operations at the Westcon Group, said: “We learnt a lot after we consolidated our UK business. It went very well for us.
“France is a huge geography with three or four business districts. We are based in Paris and get good penetration in that region, but want to expand across France.”
