Speaking to CRN today, Harrison said: "I am genuinely excited about getting this role. My experience in working with partners during my time at EqualLogic will stand me in good stead.
"The channel is a critical part of Dell's growth path, helping to grow the business in the right areas."
Harrison took part in a CRN web seminar last month talking about the services opportunity in the channel. See the seminar here.
Late last year, Dell revealed that it was globalising its three major commercial direct sale customer segments into large enterprise, public sector and SME, and hinted at some changes to its channel team on Josh Claman’s blog. The EMEA channel team is now run by Emmanuel Mouquet.
See CRN on Monday for full interview and channel reaction.
