Security channel veteran Bernie Dodwell has confirmed he plans to stay in the channel after parting company with distributor Westcon Group.

Dodwell joined Westcon in 2004 but was one of around 20 UK-based employees impacted by the distributor’s recent restructuring drive (Channelweb, 14 October)

His employment was formally terminated this week following a five-week consultation process.

Dodwell, who was European security manager for Westcon, told CRN he is already looking into several channel consultancy opportunities for emerging security vendors.

“I plan to continue my involvement with security and convergence technologies,” he said.

Dodwell has previously served stints at rival distributors Wick Hill and Allasso.
