The distributor has recruited Phil King from rival SCH as software category
manager to lead the division - known as the Software Category.
CCD
has four other specialist categories - PC and Print, Server, Storage and
Services.
Lee Perkins, business unit director at CCD, said: “We are not aiming to be a
volume provider of software licensing, other firms already do that. The hot
topics for us this year are business continuity and virtualisation.
“Phil is an expert on the virtualisation and Microsoft space, and with him on
board we can help our VARs articulate the message to their customers. The aim is
not just to create value, it is also about creating incremental business for our
resellers.”
Perkins added the distributor is in talks with several potential new vendor
partners as it looks to grow the business further.
