Security vendor Aladdin has parted company with DNS Arrow and appointed Computerlinks in a distribution rejig to revive its UK fortunes.

Computerlinks will carry both Aladdin’s eSafe content security and etoken authentication products alongside incumbent Arc Technology.

Insa Winkelbrandt-Greener, UK marketing manager at Aladdin, admitted the vendor’s UK business had failed to keep up with other European territories.

“There have been a few personnel changes recently, but last year we started building a foundation for growth and hope to double our revenues this year,” she said.

“We wanted to get Computerlinks on board as it has a good reputation and a different set of resellers. We could not have more than two distributors in the UK and DNS Arrow was not performing as well as Arc.”

Computerlinks will offer a range of professional services to Aladdin’s partner base, including round-the-clock hardware support.

Dave Ellis, e-security director at Computerlinks, said: “We have a very strong relationship with Aladdin in other parts of the group, and this is an extension of that.”

James Pattinson, security director at DNS Arrow, said the distributor’s partnership with Aladdin had ended “by mutual consent”.

“We are focusing on delivering growth in our other authentication technologies BioPassword and ActivIdentity. We will also look to expand with Websense and Blue Coat in content security, both of which are bigger brands than Aladdin,” he said.
