Tekdata inks Vasco distribution deal

Safety in numbers: Vasco has bolstered its UK distribution line-up with the addition of Tekdata

Authentication software vendor Vasco Data Security has signed up its third UK distributor in the shape of Tekdata.

The Stoke-based distributor, which is owned by Micro Peripherals, is Europe's longest-serving SonicWALL distribution partner. Tekdata will sell Vasco's Digipass offering as an add-on to the SonicWALL portfolio. The authentication specialist is already served by UK distributor's Wick Hill and e92 plus.

Tekdata's UK and Ireland marketing manager Mark Gibson claimed the Vasco product set would fit snugly into his firm's current line-up. “Vasco is a leading authentication vendor," he said. "We think that the VASCO offering nicely complements our existing portfolio. We are able to bundle Vasco authentication with our SonicWALL offering, this provides us with new market opportunities.

VASCO authentication is offered as an extra security layer to SonicWALL implementations. By jointly offering both solutions, we are able to deliver additional value to our reseller network and the end customer.”

Vasco's chief operating officer Jan Valcke added: “The use of authentication for remote access to corporate networks and applications improves data security. Vasco uses its long-standing expertise together with other market leaders to offer secure solutions. Furthermore, we rely on our distributors and resellers to promote our solutions with other vendors.”
