A room of their own: Digital signage had a dedicated hall at ISE Amsterdam

A stream of new digital signage products in their own dedicated hall headlined the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) show in Amsterdam earlier this month.

UK vendors Adder and Calibre showcased their digital signage hardware and video processors, while UK-based Vueinti launched its QueCall system with UK ISV Wallflower Global.

“QueCall comprises a ‘head-of-queue’ LCD screen, powered by Wallflower,” said Vueinti business development manager Geof Jones.

“A managed stream of advertising can run while alerting the customer to free service points with prompts interrupting the advertising.”

Optoma chose ISE to announce its entry into digital signage.

Diverse one-hour seminars included sessions on displays, screen placement, video formats, site surveying, selling digital signage, 3D imaging technologies, the cloud, and green building standards.

Other products included Samsung’s latest network and HD desktop video conferencing monitors.

Dominic Webb, general manager of Samsung displays, said: “The NC190 and the NC240 do not need to be connected to a physical PC, which saves space while making sharing and accessing data safe and secure.”

Austria’s WolfVision displayed its latest high-end visualisers with improved PowerPoint support.

The event drew a total of 28,489 attendees – a 14.4 per cent increase on 2009’s record figure of 24,912.
