Desktop management firm Modus Interactive has signed Enta Technologies as its sole UK distributor.

The vendor enlisted the Shropshire-based distributor to drive the Modus Interactive and Powerwise brands in the UK market.

Simon Isted, channel development at Modus Interactive, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Enta Technologies; it will provide substantial reach to our target audience. Its customer base will enable us to deploy Powerwise 2009 from Modus Interactive into key markets such as SME, system integration and education."

Powerwise is a network software tool that is designed to reduce PC energy consumption. Modus claims Powerwise can save up to £30 of cost per PC per year. With 500 PCs, the vendor claims businesses could be cutting up to £15,000 from their electricity costs annually, while reducing their emissions by up to 75,000kg of CO2 per year.

Jon Atherton, group vice president for commercial at Enta Technologies, said: “This further highlights Enta Technologies’ continued development into new product channels. More than ever, businesses need a way to reduce ever-increasing energy bills and reduce carbon emissions.”

Enta will also be exhibiting at Channel Expo on 20-21 May.
