Trade body CompTIA is launching a marketing toolkit for UK VARs and is encouraging the channel to hold its nerve when it comes to setting marketing budgets.

The offering has proved to be CompTIA’s most downloaded tool in the US, prompting the development of a toolkit tailored to UK resellers. Template documents for drafting press releases and marketing material are included and professional advice on PR, press and marketing is also available.

CompTIA’s European vice president, Matthew Poyiadgi, said: “When times are tight it is tempting to cut areas where results are not immediate. But firms should consider the implications of reducing marketing.”

VAR Khipu Networks has previewed the toolkit. Chief executive Andrew Brimson claimed it would be a real boon for startups. “You cannot over estimate the importance of PR and advertising,” he said. “It is the one budget we would never cut.”

Good Idea

I think this is a good idea in the current economic climate. How do I get hold of one of these toolkits?
