Tough times: Spot On Computers has hit the wall after thirteen years in business

After more than a decade in business, Spot on Computers has hit the wall, with a meeting of the reseller's creditors scheduled for this week.

The Mancunian firm was incorporated in 1996 and, by the turn of the century, was posting annual revenues of more than £10m. One industry source told CRN the firm started life brightly, but was not adaptive enough with its business model in later years.

The firm succumbed to insolvency recently and, on 4 September, its registered office was changed to that of insolvency specialist Mistry Associates. It is here that the creditors meeting will take place on Thursday.

Another channel onlooker told CRN they had ceased trading with Spot On about a year ago because "its financials were not going in the right direction".

Sadly missed but not RIP

I have always bought my computer bits from Spoton. Many a friend and relative of mine owes Spoton a debt of techno gratitude - I built all their PCs from Spoton.
The staff were excellent in knowledge and attitude to the customer - they were friends not 'counter staff'.
I do hope somewhere, someday they will return in one guise or another.
For now - Thank you Spoton on and see you all soon?

Francis.

Sorry to hear that guys. Unfortunately once you no longer become the cheapest or have stock in that you advertise then things start to go west.

So sorry to hear the news.

Iqbal, please keep in touch. You are a true gentleman and you didnt deserve this. You worked hard to build up the business.

So sorry to see you go...

My son and his friends have built several computers with parts from Spot On over the years and have always had excellent service.

It's a big loss to the local computer world, good luck with any future businesses.

Holy le F...

The end of an era, I traded with them since the VIP days.

Ive been in Canada for the last year or so, I've heard things are getting bad over there, but I never imagined I'd be reading this.

I'd like to wish Iqbal and all well for the future.
